French Winter Cocktail

Give our 1664 Blanc a winterized taste with this recipe’s bold mixture of clementine and blood orange juice along with spicy ginger syrup. It’s sure to keep you warm on cool nights! Plus, the hint of elderflower from the St-Germain helps balance the citrus tartness and nods to the impending spring and lush wildflowers that the French countryside is known for.


RECIPE:

Syrup Prep Time: 32 minutes | Cocktail Prep Time: 2 min  | Servings: 1 drink

Ingredients:

For Cocktail: 1/4 cup vodka 1 tbsp St-Germain 1 x 330ml bottle of 1664 Blanc 1/3 cup clementine or blood orange juice   For Ginger Syrup: 1 cup water 1 cup white sugar 3/4 cup of thinly sliced ginger root   For Garnish: 1 tbsp pomegranate arils 2 sprigs thyme  

Instructions:

1. Simmer the ginger, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium-heat. Stir until dissolved and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain and cool.
 
2. In a shaker tin, add ice, 1 tbsp of the ginger syrup and combine all ingredients except for the beer. Shake vigorously.
 
3. Strain and pour over ice, topping with 1664 Blanc to taste and garnish with pomegranate arils and thyme.
